The prosecutor demanded 12 years in prison for hacker Nikulin

He was recently indicted for cybercrimes.

The Prosecutor’s Office for the Northern District of California has prescribed to the US government court to sentence. Russian Yevgeny Nikulin, who was recently indicted for cybercrimes, to 12 years in jail. The applicable archives were gotten in the electronic information base of the court.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the Russian citizen should be sentenced to “imprisonment for 145 months,”. And also to recover from him the damage that he inflicted on some American companies, the petition says.

Nikulin’s lawyers went to court with a different proposal. The Russian’s defenders recommended that he be sentenced to the term that he had already served under arrest. Thus, he can be released after the announcement of the verdict and deported to Russia. The lawyers’ petition is also accompanied by letters from Nikulin’s relatives. Who said that they were looking forward to the return of their loved one.

Recall that 30-year-old Nikulin is accused of hacking LinkedIn, Dropbox. And Formspring and stealing data from more than 100 million users. He was arrested in October 2016 in the Czech Republic, and then extradited to the United States.
